Old Jaffa

Old Jaffa is an ancient port city of Tel Aviv-Yafo (Jaffa). While it is located within the modern metropolis of Tel Aviv, it is a charming old city (one of the oldest in the world). It is also known as the “Old City of Jaffa” or simply the “Old City.”
Old Jaffa is the cradle of most of Jaffa’s history and remains very much the city’s cultural center.
The famous cobblestone alleyways are where you should begin any visit to Old Jaffa. They are quite easy to find, just ahead upwards from the port or promenade once you proceed to Old Jaffa’s main port. The recent restoration work makes this old section of Jaffa even more charming and Instagram-worthy — it is simply a delight to stroll down. It seems to be a world (and centuries away) form the more modern Tel Aviv.
Old Jaffa is also home to several churches, museums, trendy restaurants, shops, nightclubs and a lively artists’ quarter with several art galleries and studios.
